It is finally here! After a year of waiting our Alaska cruise is underway. I don’t think I can express the level of excitement we have for this cruise. It was originally booked two years ago but then the pandemic came and messed it all up. We waited patiently and we are finally being rewarded. This trip has Darlene, Sam, and Gabie all joining us. Our day started early in the morning with a 6 am flight. We flew Alaska Airlines from Austin, TX to Seattle WA. The weather in Texas was well over 100 degrees and when we arrived in Seattle it was in the 50s! Our flight arrived in Seattle at 8 am so we had to waste a few hours waiting for our room. We ate a delicious breakfast at Tavern 5 Point Cafe. The food was excellent and we had a great view of the Seattle Space Needle. After eating we decided to walk down to Pikes Place Market. Pikes Place Market is a must-see. All kinds of food, gifts, and things to see (including the gum wall). Seattle was a little rough as there was a lot of graffiti and glass on the streets. We were up really early so we decided that as soon as we could get to our rooms we would get rested up for embarkation day! It was an exciting and jubilant first day.
