Bahamas could see a new cruise port in the next couple years after a deal was signed with a private developer to turn to the southern end of Long Island, Bahamas to Calypso Cove. Construction could start as early as 2023. A record number of cruise ships have been scrapped in 2022, marking a record beaten even before the cruise industry shutdown and 2020. Carnival Cruise Line’s sixth Fantasy class ship Carnival Ecstasy is taking its final bow this week as it embarks on its last revenue sailing from Mobile, Alabama.
