BIG travel news breaking today! We finally have an update from the CDC - and the agency saying that it is SAFE to travel if you're vaccinated. What does this mean for cruise travel...?

The industry seems to be brewing with optimism!

In this cruise news video we'll cover today's breaking news, and cruise news from the week. There are some good things happening with the cruise lines this week and we are excited to share the news with you.

Here's a sample of the cruise news we'll talk about:

- TODAY, The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) said that fully vaccinated people can travel.

- Mayor of Miami-Dade County Daniella Levine Cava met with the CDC Director (by phone) and said on Thursday that regulations and guidance from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to restart the cruise industry in the U.S. are close to becoming official.

- Christine Duffy, president of Carnival Cruise Line, said in a video message to travel agents that the brand has no plans to move its ships from their U.S. homeports. Duffy said as more Americans are vaccinated, her focus is on securing a decision (from the CDC) to allow for a resumption of cruising from U.S. homeports, consistent with other forms of travel returning for the summer.

- Royal Caribbean International’s Odyssey of the Seas completed the final chapter in its construction odyssey today. The highly anticipated marvel officially became the 25th ship in the cruise line’s award-winning fleet & Odyssey will now set the stage for a bold, new way to vacation when it debuts from first-time homeport Haifa, Israel in May 2021 and Fort Lauderdale, Florida in November.

-Royal Caribbean International has announced that Quantum of the Seas will continue sailing from Singapore through October 2021.

-Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings (NCLH) will require its crew aboard Norwegian, Oceania and Regent ships to have a COVID-19 vaccine

-Until further notice, Windstar Cruises will require proof of a current COVID-19 vaccination for all guests sailing aboard Windstar’s yachts.
