AC Infinity CLOUDLINE S6, Quiet 6” Inline Duct Fan with Speed Controller - Ventilation Exhaust Fan for Heating Cooling Booster, Grow Tents, HydroponicsIt's time for our live aboard boat ventilation upgrade and installation! That will include upgrading our boat ventilation system in the heads and doing a ventilation installation in our galley. Believe it or not, Navigator Yachts didn't come with ventilation in the galley! Needless to say creating moisture and humidity on a boat as a live aboard can be detrimental to the boat, your health, and can be just plain gross. First we are going to upgrade the ventilation in the heads because they are inefficient and and loud as hell (80 decibels)! We installed the AC Infinity CLOUDLINE S4 inline duct fans which is only 28 decibels which will be a huge improvement. We also insulate the bottom of the fans because it is a motor and will vibrate the boat and make noise.
Then it is time to test the new head vents and see how fast they will vent all of the moisture. With success it dropped the moisture significantly within 15-20 minutes.
Now to upgrade the galley which had no ventilation. We had a custom hood made and and are going to ventilate it behind the microwave/convection oven. We will also put in heat insulation around the microwave/convection oven because it can get very hot. Then we have to cut cut a couple of holes in the boat for the galley ventilation since it is all brand new. Then it is time to test the galley ventilation system. Both head and galley projects were a success with reduced humidity with quieter fans that pull more moisture out of the air faster.
