Some advice to any fellow travellers:
I had a very positive experience sailing for the first time but unfortunately, it isn't the case for everyone as some people have bad intentions, there are sexual predators out there and people can sometimes find themselves in potentially dangerous situations. So please take your safety precautions when travelling: ask questions, use your common sense and trust your instincts! If going sailing, especially alone, always do your research to assess if the boat, captain, and crew are safe, reliable and a happy match. Also, I recommend always telling someone you trust: who youโ€™re sailing with, how long you might be away and your location if you know you might go off the grid for a while. Iโ€™m including resources and links to websites, groups and sailing communities where you can find blacklisted captains, find more information and meet other travellers. Wish you safe travels and happy sailing :)
