The San Juan Puerto Rico Cruise port is very popular with around 500 cruise ships stopping here every year. There can be up to 7 cruise ships here at once between the 4 piers, and 2 cruise terminal buildings. For some cruisers this will be a port of call on their itinerary while others it will be the homeport to start and end their cruise. There is no need to tender with the 4 piers.
San juan is the capital and largest city in Puerto Rico. The pier is close to downtown, but there is not much at the pier. This is not a manufactured Port like Costa Maya .As you exit the terminal building or get to the end of the pier there is a main street you will walk up to get to the old city, along the road there are local vendors set up selling their products. The cruise port is in a great location just a few blocks from historic old San Juan.
