If you're cruising to Holland America and your port is in San Diego, this video might help you have a smooth embarkation process. Just a brief introduction about the San Diego cruise port. The port of San Diego was established in 1962 and five cities around the port have worked together to develop and promote commerce, navigation, recreation, and fisheries on and around San Diego Bay. In San Diego port, however, there are only 2 cruise ships that can dock at the same time and it is limited to smaller cruise ships only. If you're coming from the airport, just take the taxi or a Rideshare to get you to the port of San Diego and it will only take you about 6 minutes. When you arrive at the port, your luggage will be taken right away by a holland America worker and you will be directed to enter inside the building.
