What exactly is a pacific coastal cruise? We are new to cruising, but recently went on a 7 night princess pacific coastal cruise and it was so much fun. We sailed on the Star Princess and it was our first cruise ever! This is our embarkation day vlog where we checked out the room, attended the sail away welcome party, and of course started the trip with some delicious food. We brought along our toddler (just shy of 2 years old) so we ended up choosing a Mini Suite, which worked out perfectly. We weren't sure how much they would have for young kids and we heard it wasn't as kid friendly as some other cruise lines, but decided to give it a try. Because we were on a Pacific Coast Cruise, we started in LA and made stops up the Pacific Coast until we finally ended in Vancouver. The weather wasn't great, but we made the most of it!
A couple tips is you are traveling on a Princess Cruise with a toddler. Kids can't use the pool unless they are toilet trained. This didn't bother us too much as it was a little cold for the pool during our cruise. But something to keep in mind if the pool is important to you. They also have a treehouse kids club. Kids older than 3 can be dropped off with the staff, but younger kids under 3 can still use it with a parent (we didn't know this until we got there). And the food options for kids is awesome! In addition to the kids menu, they made macaroni and cheese for all the kids one night and kept bringing it as an appetizer every day after discovering it was a big hit.
Enjoy our first day aboard the Star Princess and let us know if you've ever cruised with young kids.
