Time and again, Donald Trump's criminal defense attorneys seem inclined to take on the tone and tenor of their client in legal filings. Their latest motion is no exception. Trump's lawyers have asked Judge Tanya Chutkan to hold Jack Smith and his prosecutors in contempt for giving the defense discovery (evidence) and filing a motion while the case is on appeal. But they don't stop there. Their motion goes on to state that the prosecutors "unlawful goal . . . is the (a) desperate attempt to harass President Trump and prevent his likely victory in the 2024 Presidential election." Sadly, these defense motions read more like 2 am Trump posts than legitimate legal filings.
