Florida and Texas are consistently the fastest-growing states in all of North America. Both states have record-breaking growth in demographics and economics; making the Gulf Coast region (located at the confluence of the Atlantic Ocean, the Gulf of Mexico, and the mighty Mississippi) one of the best natural advantages in all of the United States. Sure Mississippi and Louisiana have problems, but Alabama has been on the rise- and who doesn't want to live on a tropical vacation?

The Gulf Coast is known for its vast and valuable natural resources, consistently warm weather, beautiful beaches, a sought-after culture, incredible seafood, and unique Southern hospitality. While major Gulf cities like Houston, Tampa, and New Orleans offer robust job markets and excellent amenities. Resort cities like Biloxi, Ocean Springs, Destin, and Walton County draw in millions of tourists looking for a temporary paradise every year.

But for all of its natural beauty and endless resources; the Gulf Coast isn't paradise, and this idea of living on vacation (in a place like the Gulf Coast) can be deeply disappointing in reality. So let's look at why life isn't so easy on the U.S. Gulf Coast, and how the endless natural advantages there- are becoming a nightmare for millions of residents.
